Saskatoon Softball Legacy Program
History: The Saskatoon Amateur Softball Association is a very active Softball Organization hosting numerous provincial, National & International events since its inception in 1964. After the 2009 ISF Men’s World Softball Championship the Saskatoon Softball Legacy Program was developed to administer all funds generated from National & International events hosted by the SASA.
The mandate of the funds is to provide opportunities for player development, umpire development, capital projects and opportunities to provide funding for the marketing of Softball in Saskatoon.
A working agreement between 4 partners was established, Saskatoon Amateur Softball Association, Saskatoon Amateur Softball Association Championships Program, Saskatoon Minor Softball League & the Saskatoon Bridge City Umpires Association. A Board of Directors was developed to oversee the Softball Legacy Program ad administer the funds to best serve the Softball Community
The Saskatoon Softball Legacy Program from its inception in January 2009 to May of 2019 has provided funding for 63 projects with a total contribution of $ 515,544.90.
The Saskatoon Amateur Softball Association Thanks the many Sponsors over the years that have contributed to the National & International Softball Events that have been hosted in Saskatoon. Also, a big THANK YOU to the outstanding number of volunteers who have assisted in the tradition of Saskatoon Hosting major softball events over the years.
